Taxis can be found at one of the
taxi-stand (3 in Capri, 3 in Marina Grande, 1 in Marina Piccola),
or they can be hailed on the road as they pass by. At the taxi-stand, the passenger is obliged to
take the first taxi in line. Taxis can also be called by telephone from the main taxi-stand in the
Piazza Ungheria, or they can be reserved thought hotel concierges or travel agents.
Beware of anyone who offers tours of the island by taxi (especially if they do so on ferries or hydrofoils).
These people have no right to do so, in addition to which the price agreed upon will inevitably
include a significant percentage of added expense. |
