Moorage
inthe most of the island is very difficult because of the rocky movement
of its coasts and of winds that blow: weak form east in the morning and
from north-west in the summer
afternoon. In winter the outline is more various: north-east wind, sirocco,
southwest wind, west wind and north wind. This is the rason why Capri has
always had its harbour in the
northern side, in Marina Grande, the same place where nowadays the
commercial and the touristic harbours lay.
